FICCI will host the 15th edition of the Global Skills Summit (GSS) to drill into key issues confronting education, skills and training across schools, technical and vocational education and training (TVET) and higher education. As the flagship event of FICCI’s Skills division, the summit will bring together key stakeholders from the country and beyond – policy makers, practitioners, academia, industry, international organizations and leading global experts – to outline new directions and pathways for an impactful social and economic development of our country.

 

The 2-day Summit shall span a wide range of topics relating to skill development such as feeder schools, models of job creation, effective teacher/trainer development, learner’s assessment & linking with the Academic Bank of Credit, skills for fourth /fifth industrial revolution jobs and green transition to name of a few. It will also discuss role of technology & digital platforms for creative inclusive skilling solutions, skills for quality jobs, role of micro-credentials, blockchain in education, skills for the care economy & creative industries, and education at the intersection of other sectors such as Energy, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Tourism, e-mobility and many more. For investments in the sector and to bring individual and economy-wide impact, the sessions will also discuss active labor market policies, gender transformative approaches, effective social protection policies and enhanced inclusion for people with disabilities.

 

Over the last 14 years FICCI Skills has addressed many such concurrent topics and issues through keynote speeches, high level panels, expert presentations, and interactive dialogue sessions. This year too we shall continue with our legacy. A key feature of GSS is VIRASAT the Heritage exposition which is the marketplace exhibition and demonstrations from various clusters of our country, this will be continued in 2024 as well with greater participation and presence from different states.
